My name is Deanna and I inherited my love for photography from my mother, who is also a photographer. I got my first camera when I was about 6 years old- it was a plastic teddy bear shaped thing with a button on the top and a place to load the film in the back. This gift led to a bachelor’s degree in fine art photography, a career with several high end photography companies, and many amazing adventures around the world with my Canon in tow.

I love capturing people and places that touch my heart. I love hearing love stories. I enjoy watching the snow fall outside my beautiful mountain cabin and making friends with the local wildlife. I am a proud mother to two rescue boys, both Snow Tiger Siamese. I love chocolate cake, coffee, gardening, and rehabilitating injured wildlife.

I’ve been all around the world but have never felt more at home than in the Colorado mountains. There is something unique about everything here- from the fox that follows me to the mailbox, to the colorful mountain people and stories that they have brightened my world with….it’s all been beautiful.

When I make a portrait, I feel as if my subject comes out slowly, sort of like a painting. It’s an amazing process finding the person within. I enjoy showing people their inner beauty. The sooner we can all find our gifts, the sooner we can share them with the world.

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon L glass lenses. I try to only use natural light and prefer to shoot outdoors during the magic hours.
